Server Reporting Services and what are its uses?
SQL Server Reporting Services are services that comes with a
standard install of SQL Server which comes as add on in the install. To develop
a SSRS report you may have to download SSDT or BIDS tools for creating a
report.
SSRS helps to create,
deploy, and manage mobile and paginated Reporting Services reports on premises
with the range of ready-to-use tools and services that SQL Server Reporting
Services (SSRS).
With Reporting Services, you can
create interactive, tabular, graphical, or free-form reports from relational,
multidimensional, or XML-based data sources. You can publish reports, schedule
report processing, or access reports on-demand. Reporting Services also enables
you to create ad hoc reports based on predefined models, and to
interactively explore data within the model. You can select from a variety of
viewing formats, export reports to other applications, and subscribe to
published reports. The reports that you create can be viewed over a Web-based
connection or as part of a Microsoft Windows application or SharePoint
site. Reporting Services provides the key to your business data.
Example:
In the example, I would like to show we can locate if there
is a reporting services installed in the SQL Server.
In the services type you can see the Report Server is
installed on the Instance of the SQL Server.
